A Look Into the Gender Discrimination in Nursing

by yanbamper on September 16, 2011

Discrimination can occur where it is least likely to exist.

You cannot qualify to a Nursing degree if you care only about yourself, and could ignore a peer pleading for term paper help. Nursing is one of the most nurturing professions there is. It is ironic that discrimination, either actual or assumed, happens. History reveals one of the possible reasons why gender discrimination is present in Nursing.

The Nightingale Effect

Florence Nightingale, born in Italy on May 12, 1820, is a prominent figure in the field of nursing. She volunteered her service for the British Army during the Crimean war. Her offer was soon granted by the government, because the public denounced increasing cases of helpless soldiers dying of cholera.

Nightingale witnessed the alarming health condition of the soldiers, and discussed the issue with Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. This paved the way for the constitution of the 1857 Sanitary Commission and Army Medical College.

Women were given the opportunity to be involved in medical missions. Nightingale published books to promote awareness on her advocacy for health reforms. Her theories regarding military health and sanitation are regarded until today. If you are a nursing student, you may have already read one while scouting for possible term paper help.

Today’s Scenario

There are articles that refer to nurses as she. Some professors tend to be more strict to male students. They give less consideration when it comes to assignments,  examinations, and scores. These situations were shared by male nurses, themselves. One even narrated that he was not allowed to witness a woman give birth because of his gender.

Gender discrimination ruins confidence and self-esteem of male nurses. It undermines the value of nursing as a profession. Those who are discriminating minorities manifest lack of understanding on the essentials of nursing, and thus should be given term paper help.

Admission Services Get Goals Closer

by yanbamper on June 1, 2011

You know how important it is to get into a good university, that is why you should settle for no less when it comes to admission services.

Everyone has his dream job. Quality education plays a vital role toward achieving that goal. A slot in a prestigious university paves the way to a successful career. More doors of opportunities open for graduates from established academic institutions.

The admission process gets tougher as time passes by. Thousands of applicants vie to get accepted while the school can only accommodate limited number of students. You will have to compete with other hopefuls who are as well academically gifted. You have to prove you are a cut above the rest.

The reviewing committee is skeptic in selecting individuals who will soon become part of their learning community. An excellently-written admission essay increases your chance of getting into your dream university. The entrance examination and your grades can already indicate how smart you are. Your admission essay should speak about your characteristics, and interests – important aspects that figures cannot assess.

Writing essay is a common task given to students. Admission essays are different, though. It has to be impressive. It has to bear these three essential qualities:

Uniqueness. Your admission essay may be the 50th the board has read for the day. A lame introduction might automatically pull down all your efforts. You do not want that to happen. The essay has to catch and sustain attention starting from the title, down to the last sentence. The presentation should stand out as you may be talking about a topic similar to others – a person who has significant impact in your life, for instance. Instead of merely describing the person, discuss how exactly you were changed or influenced, and how these affected your outlook on things.

Coherence. Stick to your topic. Ensure that each detail included on the essay contributes to establishing the main idea. Otherwise, do not think twice of omitting words or sentences. The introduction, body and conclusion have to be cohesive and concise. Do not underestimate the power of revision. Polished output takes you a long way. Take note that your character is being put to test in your admission essay. Mistakes in grammar, spelling, or punctuation can imply carelessness. You can seek help from experts who can proofread your work for you.

Humility. Show them what you have got but always stay grounded. You do not have to blatantly tell the panelists about your achievements in school. Writing essay that will emphasize your strength is your objective. However, an arrogant approach will do nothing to awe the admissions committee. People reading your essay have been part of the academe for years. It is inappropriate to overly stress at this early stage how good you think you have already become.

There are on-line academic writing services that can guide you through every step of the admission process. Writing essay that advances your potential is necessary in leaving a mark to the panelists. Seek assistance from professional writers who know how to put your best foot forward. Your admission is a crucial investment that will either make or break your future. Invest only with the best in providing admission services.

Economics of Philippines

by yanbamper on May 27, 2011

The economics in the Philippines, which is aptly nicknamed, Pearl of the Orient, has been shaky, at the very least.  The path started out pretty bad, just as any Asian country did when one gains independence from the ruling country.  In the case of the Philippines, it experienced a messy journey after the Spaniards grant independence in the early 1900s.  Writing an essay, or in this case, an on-line essay in the form of a blog post, about the tumultuous journey will not do enough justice but will still be a good start anyway.

The economic status of this small country in Southeast Asia rose to fame in the 1970s.  Business was booming and this was the time that investors started to notice how viable this country was in terms of manpower and resources.  Not to mention that its president back then, Ferdinand Marcos and his infamous first Lady, Imelda, were not the least shy when it comes to showing off how prosperous the country was back then.  Great bridges and schools were built almost every week and the unemployment rate was way below than the Philippines’ neighbors including Malaysia, Indonesia, and yes, the little-known country back then, Singapore.

Things began to look dim after the dictator that was Marcos was thrown out.  Lawlessness was everywhere and people were recovering from the loss of life and property that the war to end a 20-year dictatorship brought.  If you were a student and writing an essay about the real condition of the country under Martial law, grave threats will come your way back then. The bright economic minds were not really that keen on fixing things as they were just mending themselves.

From then on, Philippine economy has bounced from the giants in its part of the globe.  The Philippine peso has painfully depreciated and makes comebacks from time to time but has not been able to keep up with the progress that Singapore, for example has made.  In summary, the economics in the Philippines can be described as:

1. Unstable money.  In a span of 20 years, the value of its money depreciated by 200%.  The major factor that has been keeping it afloat are the remittance of its overseas workers to their families.  If that didn’t existed, the peso may have been underrated.

2. Weak export industry.  And this is not because this country does not have creative minds,  it has been critically noted that its government pays little attention to harnessing local production to be exported to major players in the world.

3. Robbed by rampant corruption.  It has also been regularly pointed out that one of the contributing factors to this country’s economic turmoil is that tax payers money makes a detour to the pockets of the corrupt officials in the government.  The reality is, according to noted local and foreign observers, only 30-40% of the original amount is being spent on the actual goal that it was proposed to be spent on, with the rest greedily distributed to the bank accounts of government officials

Those who run the economics in the Philippines have a long way to go before they can say that the country is in a secured spot.  Maybe writing an essay like this or foreign observation can get their blood up and running.

THE DANGER OF EXCESSIVE QUOTATIONS IN TERM PAPERS

by yanbamper on May 17, 2011

Quotations are used as evidence to support a claim. They are statements, texts or passages coming from famous personalities or  literary forms. Quotations add authority. It is strengthening your term paper. It also works in opening paragraphs due to  its ability to capture attention, and produce lasting effect or recall.

There are different ways to use quotations:

  1. Summarizing or Paraphrasing. This is writing a quotation in your words without changing the thought of the original passage.
  2. Direct Quotations. They are denoted by quotation marks. Direct quotations mean including a statement as it is.
  3. Block Quotations. This is used when inserting text  with length more than four lines.  Quotation marks are no longer needed in block quotations as the entire text is indented , for emphasis.

Remember to always mention  the source. This is to give proper credit to your reference and at the same time, avoid plagiarism. The text and punctuation marks in a quotation can be edited to conform to your writing style. However ,the idea must remain the same. If you are to put a comma, enclose it in a brackets [ ] or parentheses ( ) to indicate it is an added material  and is not found on the original statement. If you are to  omit parts of the text, use ellipses (….)  as markers.

Keep in Mind

It is only the form you can alter to fit the composition. Changing or misrepresenting the content is unethical. While quotations add credibility to your term paper, excessive use is not ideal.  Otherwise, the term paper will sound dumb.  Worst, readers may think you have poor writing skills. This is your own term paper. Your insights count more.  It is still better to summarize a quotation rather than copy pasting it on your work. Do not put  quotations for the sake of adding characters to your paper.  Use quotations only when you feel  it is worth noting. Show that you understand your output.  Use quotation marks by clarifying an idea. But be sure to explain or point out its relevance. Aside from solidifying your views on certain phenomenon, you can also use quotations with opposing ideas and then refute them. Being able to defend your position based on theories, and proving your stand is more truthful than other claims signifies your confidence in  the chosen premise.  There are on-line writing services offering term paper help if you are still confused with quotations. Professional writers can guide you in composing quality academics papers with proper quotations.
